I think having any weapons in the room would be a horrible idea. The odds of an accidental shooting would be much higher than the weapon being needed for a mass shooting.
Also, kids with behavioral problems or developmental disabilities would be at a higher risk of the teacher using the weapon...
I have all the same questions. Was walking to different areas of the school alone a regular thing he did? Did he have a history of leaving or wandering at all?
