Law Enforcement don’t have to frame someone through commission of an offense. They can frame someone by no excluding other suspects. By conducting no investigation that might disclose physical evidence. That is overlooked as ineptness that would not risk their freedom. I’ve known plenty of...

Yes. I think the State used that fact to its advantage to show he had the ability to commit the crimes. Compound that with the limitations to show how Joan was involved with the case, and it hamstrings the defense. The State also used the letter regarding child support in an effective way to...

I am stunned. It is difficult to see how he could be convicted, other than the jury did not hear that Joan and her son pleaded the fifth, but they did mot know what we knew.

I agree. It is a pretty easy trial to consider. You either think there is a reasonable possibility that Joan Harmon did it and you vote to acquit or you think Kit did it beyond a reasonable doubt. But, I think deliberations will go for a bit (Maybe into Friday) out of respect for the Phillips...

That’s my understanding based on the testimony and closing arguments, as well.

So, how was the DA able to argue that Kit through it into Joan’s yard if Joan stating that she found the phone in her yard were not facts in evidence? (That was a rhetorical question, Spiritecho. Glad I’m not the only who thought that.)

It was rainy on the 18th. The 22’s might not have been too loud, but people shot all the time in the neighborhood over at Cal’s place. Mr.Watkins (Kit’s neighbor) clearly did not hear any gunshots……

Did someone testify that Joan said the phone was found in her yard? Because that is what she said, but I thought there were numerous objections to hearsay regarding what Joan said at the AT&T store.

I think what he meant was that it was his, but not what he carried. He ruled them out as the ones he carried because (1) they did not have the rubber around them so they don’t clatter about inside your shirt; and (2) they were on a white string, not the beaded metal strand. Ed Griffiths...

DA reminds me of the teacher played by actress Nancy Fish in Hiding Out with Jon Cryer. That was a good retort regarding the care package. Now I know why she didn’t object…….

I thought non-DNA hair comparison analysis was so misleading that it was inadmissible.

DA’s talking so freaking much about Kit’s phone. Where is the data on Joan Harmon’s phone???? Why not exclude Joan through Joan’s phone? She knew what the defense is. Kit was on TV telling the world Joan did it. She isn’t there for those three victims. She is there to get a conviction...

I’ve had several that were acquitted. I had two that were convicted. The investigation into Joan Harmon, if it occurs at all, won’t start until Kit Martin is acquitted. However, I highly doubt the State of Kentucky or Christian County is going to make any effort to investigate her. (If they...

His alibi was that he was with his fiancé. He was arguing that his ex-wife did it.

I can understand why that would apply to the State for co-conspirator witnesses, but in a SODDI defense case, the defendant should be able to call the witness and make them plead the fifth to each question that would incriminate them. Kit would not have had to take the stand.
