Found Deceased MA - Michael Doherty, 20, Franklin, 14 May 2017

It's insane to me to think that his family and friends could have been looking for him for possibly three hours (before LE stepped in) and no one could find him just 200 yards from the house… Anyone else find this odd?

Michael was 20 but some of the friends st the party were 21.

I just read that whole article, but I don't think it answers my question. I said that the parents shouldn't be held responsible if they didn't furnish the alcohol. I don't see anywhere in that article that says they would be held responsible for simply owning the home. It doesn't seem right. Am...

But how did they (the parents) "serve" alcohol to minors if they didn't even know the party existed? They weren't there. What if the homeowners weren't the ones who even (unknowingly) furnished the alcohol? Aren't these kids old enough to take some responsibility?

The more I think about it the less it makes sense for him to choose to walk home through some crazy "path" through the woods in the dark of night. Let alone in the rain n... without a jacket, without a flashlight or a working phone. Why would anyone do that? I've been super drunk before and even...

Agree. Totally. I'm still theorizing that his body was later PUT there. In my head it's the only thing that makes sense. I would think the condition of his body would certainly lend well to solving this mystery, but I admit that I am ignorant to the resources and capabilities of a medical examiner.

Sorry, just edited my post. Thanks for the reminder. New here :)

With a quick address search and Michael's FB friends list it was pretty easy to figure out which friend threw the party on Phyllis Lane. I'm wondering why we haven't heard anything from him or about him. The silence is quite sketchy to me but maybe I'm just looking for reasons to be skeptical...

Yes! So many good points! I feel like someone is covering something up. Why would he refuse rides when his brothers didn't answer their phones and why walk in the dark woods with a dead cell phone instead of the street lights? The only logical explanation for the latter, IMO, is if he was on...

I had similar thoughts! What a strange choice of words.

Exactly my thoughts. If he covered that much ground barefoot his body would definitely show signs of it. I live in Franklin and the terrain can be rough in the woods! Uneven ground, slopes, ditches, stumps and fallen branches... it makes me hurt thinking about walking through it in patch black...

Oh I totally agree - much safer to say nothing at this point and seek legal counsel. Thanks for explaining your comment! Very sad all around, for sure.

I personally think it would be very telling whether or not he had many wounds on his body and feet. The terrain around here is uncertain - ditches, slopes, fallen branches... Walking in the woods in the dark would cause multiple injuries IMO. His legs and feet would be all torn up if he covered...

I just want to make sure I understand your comment. Why would you be saddened if the parents said the truth (that they had no idea about the party)? Because it could potentially make the kids liable? I would hope the parents wouldn't cover for their kids if they did something criminal.
