Dallas Morning News states that she was born in Mexico and emigrated (doesn't specify if this was legal or illegal immigration) with her family. I'd be willing to bet she isn't a US citizen or permanent resident. I'd even wager that she never had a green card.
Since she's a Mexican citizen and since her residency status in the US is questionable, I seriously doubt she'll be back. Mexico will likely not act on the extradition request. If she has dual citizenship, it's still a big maybe. And I couldn't disagree more that DPD was supposedly on their...
Of course something is off - an innocent young girl was kidnapped and murdered. It can happen anywhere. Consider how terrified she might have been to be confronted with a weapon - for those asking why she would get in the car willingly. Consider how a criminal can find anonymity in a crowd...
A few things worth noting:
-DPD will not let details out on how she was killed, potential motive for the murder, etc... This indicates that they are concerned about other crimes in the area with a similar pattern and almost certainly indicates, especially considering the lack of any theft, that...
if only it was as easy as sending marshals there to arrest her. Mexico has to hand her over. Mexico will not hand her over unless the US agrees to not pursue the death penalty.
Dallas Morning News article from late September stated that due to an internal DPD error related to understaffing, the order to keep BD under surveillance was never placed and that she had disappeared.
If if they were aware of where she was hiding, then she'd be in custody. What would be the...
One of the Dallas Morning News articles stated that she was arrested for outstanding traffic warrants and held while her residence was searched. I'm guessing that they were hoping for a smoking gun to be present there, which there clearly wasn't. So, she was released.
When my burgulary took place, it took DPD 7 hours just to show up. The responding officer was given a typed list of everything that was stolen and still couldn't get a single item from the list onto the report correctly. Not one damn item was correct. If you ever need a copy of a police...
first time poster here - just wanted to chime in with some opinions based on being a Dallas resident...
firstly, the issues that the Dallas Police are having with response times, understaffing and all that: this is all very real. I could write volumes about how poorly the DPD is doing and...
