KY - De’Jon Fox Jr.,19, killed allegedly by father of another student in bullying incident. Grand jury declines to indict him, Dec 9, 2025.

There is a lot of information out there, especially from more local news outlets. I just shared the NY Post link because it's more or less "national" and isn't behind a paywall. The NYT also has an article but although I can gift the link to it, I don't think I'm allowed by WS policy to share a...

KY - De’Jon Fox Jr.,19, killed allegedly by father of another student in bullying incident. Grand jury declines to indict him, Dec 9, 2025.

There are so many unanswered questions I have about this. The supposed incident that sparked this whole episode is when a mob of students at Kentucky State University, a HBCU, robbed and ransacked the dorm room of one of the two student sons of Jason Bard. The student called the police. A mob...

Welcome to The Official Websleuths Investigative Book Club !

And over and over and over all through the book. I skipped over the gory details after a while. I know it is written as a more-or-less cut-and-dry police procedural, but, as you say, some more nuance would have improved the book. That being said, I am glad I read the book. I can't say I...

Welcome to The Official Websleuths Investigative Book Club !

Although I have read a lot of true crime books in my life, I usually avoid reading about the murders and abuse of children. I have never read anything by Aphrodite Jones. I started reading it today, and I am already past page 60. I am horrified but I cannot look away. Looking forward to the...

I was raised a Catholic, also. I went through 12 years of Catholic school. I am lapsed religiously but still consider myself a Catholic culturally. There are some things that were great about the Catholic schools. Catholics have a great tradition when it comes to education, unlike many...

GUILTY FL - FSU Law Professor Dan Markel Murdered by Hitmen-Donna Adelson Upcoming Trial - *5 Guilty* #28

Thank you for pointing this out! I was wondering why so many of my fave YT content providers are doing short vids. Even my crochet and cat channels!🐱 I find it annoying.

Not only that, but according to JL's interview with the police, he and Wendy rarely watched that tv even when it wasn't broken. So why watch it when it is? The answer, of course, so that he could be a witness to the fact that the tv was broken.

I fervently hope that Rob writes a book on how he has survived and escaped from his enmeshed, toxic family. I think it would be very helpful to others who are in the same situation.

What is the most vexing true crime case in your life? What is the one case that you need to know how it ends?

A case that I find intriguing is the disappearance of an Irish couple, Conor and Sheila Dwyer, in Co. Cork in 1991. Never found. It hits home with me because my parents are from Ireland, and I have a strange personal coincidence with this couple. (I hate vague posts like this, so if you really...

GUILTY FL - FSU Law Professor Dan Markel Murdered by Hitmen-Donna Adelson Upcoming Trial - *5 Guilty* #28

Can you provide a source for this and for where Harvey grew up, please? I also grew up in working class Flatbush in Brooklyn. I’d love ro know where they lived. I am just a few years younger than Donna. In those days, moving from Brooklyn to Queens was considered a step up the economic ladder.

What is the most vexing true crime case in your life? What is the one case that you need to know how it ends?

No, I disagree with it. I'm pretty sure he did it. But because he was acquitted, I consider it legally and technically "unsolved." I'm sorry he wasn't punished while he was still alive, but since he "unalived" himself, it looks like he was living in a personal hell the rest of his days.

What is the most vexing true crime case in your life? What is the one case that you need to know how it ends?

Yes, this one has kept me up at night, too. My two kids were college students in Massachusetts around the same time period as Maura, although not at the same college, so this one hit home with me. I have read the book and listened to the podcast. Very puzzling, and even eerie. No footprints...

What is the most vexing true crime case in your life? What is the one case that you need to know how it ends?

The murder of my doctor, Dr. Teresita Valera-Costello. She practiced in New York City. Her body was found stuffed in the trunk of her car in the Bronx in 1995. Two years later, her troubled son James would be tried for her murder. He was acquitted. I met James when he was a little boy at his...

Yep. The Adelsons probably thought Tally was a hillbilly backwater filled with poorly educated hicks. Maybe they thought the trial would be like in the movie "My Cousin Vinny." (That's actually one of my faves.) Boy, were they ever wrong. Although it took a while, TPD and the prosecution...
