I have not seen the particular patent (should check it :) but generally separation of oil and water is based on their different specific gravity - there is various equipment used for separation. The problems is with emulsions - ie stable small droplets. Ultrafiltration membranes can separate...

If he got hands on a good recipe and suitable chemicals (some of them widely available), it would not be such a big problem. It still does not constitute an expert :)
I was wondering about this one as well, there is a lot of talk about his extensive knowledge of chemistry. How do the people know? He probably studied sciences, was his major chemistry? Although he worked in a chemical lab, it does not constitute being an expert. I am a little bit puzzled...
This one is bugging me as well. This happened in a good area to people in their 50's, there does not seem to be any motive and there are no viable leads IMO
That is right, just going on along 42nd to Ogden - it would be very close. He could even travel on Ogden road to the landfill ie along 50th Ave SE. I still believe that the police has camera shots and know approximately how he traveled with all the cameras everywhere nowadays.
I would do exactly the same, you go mostly through industrial areas and Blackfoot and Deerfoot would be relatively fast, especially during the night. There are cameras though on some of the intersections along that route.
This makes a lot of sense assuming he disposed of the bodies the same night. I also believe that the truck could have been caught on other cameras within the City and the police has fairly good knowledge of his movement within the City limits.

The following is a summary of a paper prepared to profile serial killers. To a point you are correct that the number of killers decreases with age, however, you cannot exclude a person based on the age. Interestingly, the study also suggests that among others older killers have a higher IQ...
I agree with you, I have four grandchildren of various ages and love them all. It is quite common that only one or two of them stay for the night, sometimes it is the older one, sometimes it is the younger one. Very often they either fall asleep in our place or do not want to go home for the...
