The little one spends "most" of her time with Melinda's parents. I hope she's not spending the rest of her time with his family? And once she starts school moving locations isn't a very stable life for her.
I think of that little girl regularly.

Yes, you are pretty much correct, Karla would not likely be able to hang a shingle and start taking in clients as their psychologist with only her Psychology Degree....but there are other careers in and related to psychology. Below I found these career options online. I highlit...
I agree with an earlier poster who commented on the fact that her family seem to have forgiven her. I have 3 young adult children. I think you can forgive people of many bad things they might have done. But I do not think that if one of my children did such a heinous act upon their sibling...
SHSF, thank you for clarifying that. Seems that SL could have waited till Melinda was out of the room and then plant the lingerie. Maybe he did work alone...but my gut says he had help...or at least somebody else KNOWS.
Glad, so glad, that the little one is with Melinda's family.
I keep popping in here to see if there is any sign that SL's brother (or somebody else) is being charged with being an accessory to the crime. I think he had help with the stalking stuff. Maybe some of it he could have done on his own, but I believe I'm correct in understanding that when the...
Set Her Soul Free (btw I love your moniker), that was a lovely testament to your friend, but also to you. You stood by her when she could no longer stand up for herself. You garnered a lot of good karma for your friend, and a lot of interest (and bad karma?) on SL. He hurt so many people...
Yes, I do feel awful for his two children, and those who are raising them, who have to explain to young children what their father did. That being said, since he was such a dysfunctional human being to begin with his absence in his kid's lives might be a blessing.

VALPARAISO — Steven Lindsey showed no obvious reaction Friday morning when he was sentenced to 55 years behind bars for shooting and killing...
Unless his brother ends up serving time for his possible involvement in this crime? If he got out at age 56 he'd be likely unemployable, and therefore a potential problem for the community where he lives. Hopefully he's a hothead in jail, and ruin any chance of getting out early.
Wonderful news. I do hope parole is not an option, as if so it could be less than 20 years (if I understand the parole system, about 1/3 of sentence if he is a good prisoner). 20 years is not enough. Hopefully the 55 means 55. He'd most likely die in prison and even if released he'd be too...
I was going to say that. I saw the photos on her memorial page, and she seemed like a happy normal child with relatives around her all the time.
Some weeks back the newspaper reported that he "might" appeal the decision. Wondering if this is still in the cards.
It's 9:13am in Indianna...
Interesting thought.
I believe Met has stated there were two misrepresentations in the application. One was that Steve was said to have a $2M policy, and he did not. What was the other misrepresentation (nice way to say "lie").
I don't know the legalities of "after-the-fact" underwriting...
