How??? The only way out was through the living area where JP was. Are they going to shove him out of the way? The best bet was to hope the police got there fast enough.
This is just my opinion completely, but I can't think of a worse gift for a SA survivor than a gift card to an underwear store (that also happens to carry cute loungewear) from a stranger. That's what Pink advertises. Cute bras and panties with fun loungewear.
It's one thing to go buy clothes...
I'm fairly certain that the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center has reached out to them. It was in the news in the day or two after Jayme was found. I can't imagine that the family would reject that assistance with all their expertise.
It would seem the only recourse of action is to sue. Her family is worried about enough right now. They're not going to use all their resources to sue people with good intentions that are just missing the mark by a long shot.
I know exactly what you're saying. She loves her aunt and uncle. This kid had a really great family. Her parents are gone, but she still has the rest of her great family.
She needs to be allowed to feel safe with them and create her new normal without interference of strangers. That's not...
I had the impression that defense CAN'T do anything so they were going to throw this out there to make it look like they tried.
I mean, what can they do? It would be great if they just plead guilty and be done with it, but they have to at least look like the public defender didn't just throw in...
I did think the same. It didn't fly in the Elizabeth Smart case though and was quite legitimate. He really did think God was telling him to do that stuff.
These defense attorneys are going to have a really hard time getting him less than life in prison. (I really hope at least.)
I don't think so. He has no transferable skills. This is where the temp agencies were placing him. He clearly isn't OK to work with the public. He needed a job where he had to do something that required no skill and he didn't have to directly interface with the public.
Criminal case against Jake Patterson not a simple one even though he said 'I did it'
Interesting story on MPR this morning (sorry if already posted).
3 takeaways...
1. Defense will likely try to plead insanity, but it is likely to be struck down because of his level of planning and coherence...
I think you're right. The level of rage you had to be experiencing to shoot someone right in the face would typically tell LE and FBI that this was personal vendetta against the Closs parents. I really think they thought they'd find the killer in plain sight - ex boyfriend, work subordinate...
I understand that, but in the mind of a 13 year old girl and her 13 year old friends - with everyone looking at you and knowing - she will feel shame. Everyone will know. Only therapy can take that shame away. Like walking into school naked - IMO. She should not have to be ashamed - she did...
I get the impression that horrible things happened and they're trying to let this poor girl keep her dignity. They don't want all her classmates to know the details of what she went through. I actually appreciate that. Being in middle school is tough. Imagine navigating those waters with the...
