If you watch the news conference the chief wouldn't say he led them to the body that he was on scene with detectives earlier today. The chief did say that another concerned citizen helped bring this resolution to this conclusion. So possibly another person brought information to the police...

    GUILTY NC - Teghan Skiba, 4, Smithfield, 19 July 2010 #5

Ok I saw something in the slideshow from death row that really bothered me--the shower rooms are single stalls--so much for my dreams of JR dropping the soap, bending to pick it up and well you can imagine the rest. That's what I get for wishing bad things to happen to others even if he really...

I too have been really bothered by Sandy Creech's statement. So much of it is just wrong...SC said she didn't know that Teghan was in the shed or that she had never met Teghan. JR dated HR for 6 mos--was SC so uninvolved in her child's life that she didn't know? Then there is the...

When watching the sentencing verdict and viewing JR's family, I made an observation--HC and JR's mom were not physically touching or comforting each other in their grief, they both were crying and sitting beside each other but there was still distance between them. The Skibas were close by each...

This my opinion--HR show signs of narcissistic tendencies, I think she let her needs and desires come before what was best for her child. JR provided a "home" that she didn't have to work for, no matter how rustic, she wouldn't be required to contribute and could go on trips to the beach, etc...

Maybe the defense is not as dumb as I thought...they are showing that HC cared more about Dale Earnhardt than a 4 yo whimpering in the shed?!? HC should be charged! Still doesn't excuse JR, but wow what a messed up family.

I think the prosecutors were very wise in not putting HR on the stand, but I do wonder why the father(Jerry Skiba) didn't testify?

I totally agree Flutterby--and don't think that JR deserves any less than the dp but....I think HR should face a lot more in this than the charges allow. It came out in court that HR never once spoke to her child while she was away. When I am out of town, I speak to my children everyday even...

As justice comes for Teghan, there a couple of things that bother me: 1. Why the PA was defending the Creech grandma? He said we had to excuse her for not doing something when she heard Teghan whimpering because the grandma had lived in fear of him for years. PUHLEASE she KNEW what it was to...

This I can agree with, doesn't excuse JR's actions, but also puts the blame on HR, imo.

Oh please--I know people who drink a whole lot more than that on daily basis, but none of them murder anyone!!

I think it is bull that we the people of NC get to pay this "expert" witness $10,000 for her testimony. If I am following twitter correctly, she only met with JR 3 times before she made her diagnosis of his condition?!? Heck my child's psych spent took much longer to diagnose Attention...
