I think that if he had died from a drug overdose, somebody would have found the body or reported it. Maybe he was with unscrupulous people who didn't want to bring attention to their own drug use/dealing but I think the body would have turned up eventually.
Transgender people do this all the time. If this were the case, it would have been even more likely he would not have contacted family in the belief they would not accept him than if he were just gay. I prefer to think of this theory and hopefully he is still out there someone.

Yes! The footprints continued for about ten miles.. with Aiden taking his shoes off sometimes. Unfortunately, the rain had eroded his prints after that point.
I hope that Aiden Clune's case is not forgotten amidst the immense public outcry for Dylan Rounds lost in the same county.
