To me it is beyond belief that anyone could defraud Centrelink by impersonating a person no matter whether they thought the person was alive or not. Risking imprisonment and severe penalties.
I can't see how Karlie could be helped by HP impersonating her at Centrelink.Also IMO she took a huge risk going to her local Centrelink office and bank when she could have easily gone to one further from home.
Police would not comment on suspects or lines of inquiry but said the mother and daughter's family had been ruled out, including the child's father who, it is understood, still resides in Alice Springs.
