“He’s seeking at least $3.5 million in damages from New York State under the Unjust Conviction and Imprisonment Act.
The claim against New York State, and several investigators with the New York State Police, alleges evidence was manufactured and “the case against him...
Afraid of Moscow for some reason? If I was subjected to that trauma, I’d be afraid of everywhere, and would never consider stepping foot in that town again. Trauma can do a number on your psyche. I think your speculations are weak and willfully ignoring effects of trauma for whatever reason.
He didn’t enter a plea. It’s not time to do so yet. That’s why it’s so stupid to say that at this point in time. He just said it will be NG, without having any evidence. Guess he’s not interested in building any credibility.
ETA: better yet, just stay out of the media for the time being. Wait...
My point is that saying “haven’t seen any evidence” while simultaneously saying “definitely not guilty” is disingenuous. Better to just say “haven’t yet reviewed evidence” and plead NG at a later time. If you’re going to go for NG, at least have the presence of mind to twist the facts around...
LM’s attorney, Dickey, on CNN saying he hasn’t seen any evidence so can’t comment but the evidence will be challenged and his client will “definitely plead not guilty.”
How is he so certain about a NG plea when he hasn’t seen any evidence? I can’t stand when attorneys gaslight people. Like the...
I don’t think the “it wasn’t me, it was some other dude” has a remote chance of being used or successful as LM’s defense argument. Barring some sort of legal technicality, I think their case is solid as a rock. Jury nullification would be his only chance, and I don’t think that will happen either.
From what I’ve heard, the downtown facility where Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell were held isn’t exactly a country club, either. But yeah, Rikers has a rep for sure!
I don’t know about New York State, but a “bench trial,” where a judge is the “jury” is available in at least some states. But that will never happen with this case. The defense, if it goes to trial, will rely on a juror sympathy factor.
Perhaps they’ll dose him with gabapentin for court for hearings/trial. I’ve heard that is frequently used for defendants who tend to have outbursts when they have court dates. But then, I guess the defendant would need to agree to this, which is questionable .
He’ll be extradited, it’ll just take longer. He’ll make things as difficult as possible. I just wonder if NYPD detectives can meet with him now that NYS murder charges have been filed. (Not that LM is going to cooperate with them, but maybe he’d blurt out some angry rants if he refuses to listen...
