I’m struggling to understand why the police has released this information?
My only guess is that the press had hold of it and were going to report it and they thought it was better for it to be released by the police
What I don’t quite understand is the talk of this case being particularly “baffling” and that she should have been found by now if she were in the river and that after X days the body should float…
…and yet it seems very common for people who have drowned in rivers, and canals even, not to be...
Sometimes when you fall over you can lose your balance and stumble quite a distance before you either right yourself or fall flat. Doubly so if you are on a slope or uneven ground.
So I think it’s quite possible Nicola could have stumbled from a point not even that close to the edge of the...
I’ve jumped and submerged into open water that would likely be significantly warmer than the river would have been and the cold water shock literally took my breath away. Te strength of that immediate reaction really took me by surprise.
In my case it was planned and I was wearing a life vest...
I’d been firmly of the belief that Nicola had fallen into the water and drowned, but speculation about the water being quite shallow made me question that belief. Now seeing the footage of divers in the area in front of the bench, I am back to feeling quite confident that this is what has...
Why would they need to? They know she arrived at the school and was seen after that on the dog walk. Presumably the car remains where she left it, it would be a very different investigation if it wasn’t.
From what the boss said it sounded like a large meeting with many attendees. I know my workplace often has these kind of ‘broadcast’ meetings where you’re expected to listen not actively participate, and it’s quite common for people to stay muted and off video throughout (and no doubt many...
I know we’ve been trying to make sense of differing reports of exactly where the harness, phone etc were found, but I’ve just thought that with an agitated dog running around nothing was necessarily where it was left when NB was last there. The phone could have been left on the bench and knocked...
Well if we are to believe reports that the dog was bone dry, it didn’t jump on. But I’m speculating it was possible to dog was fussing around the edge of the water (maybe a bird on the water attracted its attention) enough to prompt NB to go over. But it doesn’t have to be that as I said...
Pictures of the area around the bench show that there’s a vertical drop into the water of a significant enough height that may deter a dog from entering, and look to be high enough that a dog would struggle to get out. So I think it’s quite plausible that NB wouldn’t have wanted the dog jumping...
He may or may not have known it at the time, but he clearly knows about it with the benefit of hindsight because it’s now common public knowledge that she was walking her dog at the time of the meeting - so he’s quite likely just repeating back what he has heard from the police/media.
Can’t completely rule anything out, but:
<modsnip - not victim friendly>
-there’s been nothing in the messages from police/family to suggest they are appealing to Nicola herself to get in touch, as they likely would if they thought she had chosen to disappear.
