I think JJ was involved somehow but the timeline is off. I also thought I read someplace that he was a former neighbor or somehow connected to a women that was murdered in Baxter Springs back in the early 90s. This area doesn't see a lot of murders and it seems like more than a coincidence.- C424

Great post and I agree with you. I still don't think LE was directly involved but I am biased. They obviously did a very poor investigation and were quick to close it. As far as someone mentioning wether the bodies could have been cremated in the fire and its possible. Trailer fires burn...- C424

I would guess that those involved did not move away, but possibly passed away. There are not that many murders in the NE OK, SE KS area. It's possible that it was someone who knew the families or at least the father. The girls were probably just at the wrong place at the wrong time and not...- C424

I just stumbled on this thread yesterday while looking up other cold cases in SW MO. I am a LE officer from SW MO and this is a very interesting case.
