Probably a bit of a stretch but Marlene Robinson? https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/2645/ Had no contact with family since 2001 but was last known alive in 2002. Age fits, both wore glasses. Height and some facial features are a little off though, and it's quite a distance to travel.
