Motive is not necessary for conviction. The crown must prove that the accused did the act they are accused of, and that it was done intentionally (ie. not by accident, not while mentally incompetent, etc.) Why they did it is not a required element. Where the case is circumstantial, evidence...

At this point, it is up to the clients whether they authorize their lawyers to tell the other lawyer whether they are talking, what they are saying, etc. Police may claim to one or the other that one is talking as a way of encouraging the other to talk. That claim may or may not be true...

My assumption is that MS was ID'd through fingerprints lifted from Bosma's truck and/or the blue Yukon. His prints would be on file from his previous arrests. The timing makes sense, as the forensics on the trucks were completed in the last several days.

I'd agree, except murder seems like a really extreme way to get truck parts. Stealing a truck without being seen by the owner is much less risky. Plus, there are plenty of chop shops in the area, some where you can put in a request for steal-to-order parts. Add to that the fact that it appears...

In this area, if a truck is stolen, first place police will head is the reserve. Why head towards the spot that police are likely heading? Stash the truck far away till you can get rid of it. Also, the truck may have forensic evidence that you could not be sure would be destroyed in a fire...
