This really hurts. My heart breaks for this couple and their dogs. What a sad ending to their lives. I’m dumbfounded that their family did not stay in contact with them.

Just thinking out loud. What if Tyler was not fighting with the husband but with the teenage adopted son? I’m not saying this is what happened but another avenue to explore.
