At first glance, the character in the middle of the signature looks to me like a "y" rather than a "T" or a "+" sign. As in Pam y Dwight (Pam & Dwight) but written with a spanish "and" that, possibly, implies hispanic or latino heritage? It would definitely fit in with a connection to Florida...
