I think the key word here is 'believed'. As in he was believed to be travelling with Julie De Myer. Perhaps they started out travelling together then parted ways at some point leading LE to assume they were together on the sailboat ?
Agree. It is odd. A couple close-ups, interesting angle(s). Then the full length one in which some things are very obvious. They are exactly the type of photos I took of one of my children when we were going through the diagnosis process and genome sequencing.
I wonder if LE seized the...
This child presents with low set, posteriorly rotated ears, thickened helixes / folding. depressed nasal bridge, sparse eyebrows with lateral thinning, and possible hypertelorism (wide set eyes). Those features are consistent with a chromosomal anomaly. 'Lazy Eye' can be present at birth and if...
Interesting that the parents state that the 'lazy eye' was not due to a disability. This child presents with very obvious dysmorphic features consistent with a chromosomal abnormality of which one of the symptoms may be hypotonia (low muscle tone). Infants who are hypotonic often have...
2nd degree straight out of the gate has me thinking along the lines of 'crime of passion'. It's early days investigation wise. 2nd degree could be upgraded to 1st degree if evidence of premeditation comes forward.
Not LE , but I know a little bit. While some in some communities, policing services are provided by the RCMP, other locations might have their own municipal force. Missing Person investigation protocols may vary between provinces and police forces. Obviously there are industry wide best...
I'm Canadian from the opposite end of the Country. My province has multiple legal databases making it possible for us to view daily court lists, completed court lists, and basic court records for any arrest leading to charges laid. Not sure if anything similar is available in Nova Scotia, but...
Very interesting that the RCMP did not specify the identities of the family members with whom the children were seen. Imho, if the 'family members' were the parents, I think that would have been indicated in the press release.
It might look like nothing is happening and the RCMP are dragging their feet. As an organization they are notorious for keeping things completely under wraps, then, when the public least expects, holding an absolute bombshell of a news conference. Generally speaking, our news media on this...
Nearly two years there was a major criminal investigation involving my son (he was the victim). We are Canadian and the investigation was conducted by the RCMP and Crown Counsel. Early in the investigation I was told very explicitly to not engage in specific types of online conduct. I was also...

Also feels like local RCMP are facing backlash - internal and external - regarding their conduct of the investigation.
Thank you for sharing this.
Another poster brought up the fact that no online fundraising has been launched. How responsive has the local community been ? Was a vigil held at any point ? Unless I'm completely missing something or using the wrong search terms, it feels like there is more...
Sometimes what isn't said is more important than what is. RCMP did state there is no evidence of abduction. What they haven't said (afaik) is 'there is no evidence of foul play.'
Food for thought ?
It's possible that the children were capable of undressing/dressing themselves, hence the parents not being able to confirm what they may have been wearing at the time of their disappearance.
I** NOT implying or otherwise inferring this is what is happening in this matter - just offering insight into how Family Law works on this side of the border **
A parent or guardian may file ex parte (without notice to the other party) for an emergency order allowing for withholding parenting...
