I don't think we can determine at this point whether RAW was living in the house in 1975. The best evidence is that he was there in the late '60s, and that he and his wife moved out prior to the time his mother and brother moved out of the upstairs unit.
There is compelling evidence that...
Yes, that's quite possible. If they lived there *before* she was eight years old -- in other words, before the events of 1975 -- she might not have remembered residency there (or might not even have been born yet). However, her parents certainly would have remembered, and no doubt that fact...
The house at 5227 42nd Place was foreclosed upon and eventually condemned by the City of Hyattsville, which ordered the bank to have it demolished because it was beyond repair. I think the lot is still owned by the bank.
I find it hard to believe that it was Richard and Pat Welch's daughter...
This just posted today by the Hyattsville Life & Times, which has been following the Hyattsville angles of this case for the past couple years:

It's interesting that Dick Welch's daughter...
Okay, since I've been called out by name, I'll reply to some of the questions and suppositions in the thread above:
1. Thomas Willoughby has owned the house at 5xxx 42nd Place for several decades, since before the Lyons sisters were abducted.
2. Richard and Patricia Welch rented the...
The Life & Times reported on the Welch family residents having lived at that address at the time of the Lyons' sisters disappearance. I was not in Hyattsville in the 1970s; however, a friend who is a life-long Hyattsville resident does recall the extended family living in that house at that...
Police searched Lloyd Welch's former home in Hyattsville the day before:

On Sept. 22, 2014, MCPD Public Information Officer Angela Cruz stated, "We cannot confirm any Montgomery County Police operation in Hyattsville."
It's helpful to understand that every public statement made by LE in this case during the past year has been aimed not at the general public, but...
Well, I wouldn't necessarily take MCPD's word for it, since they officially denied the first raid altogether. Fortunately, that raid was witnessed by the Hyattsville Life & Times and confirmed by Hyattsville City Police, which is how we know it happened.
However, I observed this raid and I...

According to the October article in the Hyattsville Life & Times, LLW's stepmom said that the family "drank a lot and we had fights a lot, policemen done come to my door a lot and thats not no more than any other family.
In my mind, that describes the question here. A lot of Appalachian...
That's an interesting observation. The Kellys lived on 37th Ave. and Jefferson St. It would have been a 15-minute walk east on Jefferson to 43rd Ave., and then 1 block south to St. Jerome's. They would have passed directly by the house the Welches were living in. However, by the mid-'70s...
According to the Hyattsville Life & Times' report back in October, at the time of the Lyon girls' disappearance, Richard and Patricia Welch lived in a rental house at the corner of Jefferson St. and 42nd Pl. in Hyattsville. Richard's mother and a brother (now deceased) lived upstairs in the duplex.
