I completely agree. I honestly believe the answers can be found locally and in what he was doing over the Summer break. He had 6/7 weeks to talk to, meet up, plan with someone.

Quite possible. London is a transport hub after all and if he was heading further afield, the South Coast, Wales, Cornwall for example, he would probably have had to get a connecting train in London.

I've always been convinced the keys to this case lie locally and not London. I'm with you, I think whatever plan was hatched stemmed from someone he met or hung out with over the Summer holidays. It sounds as though his parents were out at work when he usually got home from school, hence they...

I think it's unlikely he's alive but would love to be wrong. I would like to think he's living a quiet life somewhere but he was so young when he left. I just can't see how he would have survived. He would have needed significant help from someone and it's a long time to fly under the radar...

I agree about his walk home. My understanding is both his parents worked which means he would have had 6 weeks over the Summer to pretty much do anything with anyone and as long as he was home for dinner, nobody would know.

Me too, my mum or dad would shout for me as they walked in. They may not come and find me if I shouted hello but if they didn't hear me, you could be sure they'd come looking to see what I was up to.

I've seen a it mentioned a few places he had 100% attendance at school and it's also mentioned in this article from The Times: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/a-perfect-son-a-model-family-so-what-made-him-run-away-wrrdtmv87rd so I think it's very likely true and accurate. I don't however...

Thank you. I don't know if I was a lazy 14 year old but that is still a fair walk.

He lived in Balby and attended McAuley Catholic School. According to a quick Google maps, it puts Balby (random point in the centre) to the school at 5.2 miles according to the route given. I am not sure where in Balby he lived to get a more accurate idea. I think my main takeaway is it...

I have listened to Thin Air but don't specifically remember if they said Andrew was alone or just seen? I know Pizza Hut did at one point (maybe still do) a lunchtime/early afternoon all you can eat style buffet. Is it possible he was with someone but that person wasn't at the table at the...

I completely agree. Not a lot seems to be made of the fact he started walking home but I believe the clue to what happened might lie in what he was doing after school. I also find it interesting the walking home started right after the Summer break and again, I've not heard much about what...
