MOO, there is more known about this "strange message." I'd also bet there was more than one. We're talking the early 90s before cell phones and texts, on graduation night, with a teenager in residence.
As for the purses, LE has an idea whether they were placed together by a well-meaning person...
I also recall there being mention Stacy's blood was found, presumably from stepping on the glass globe shards. I'll see if I can find the link for that.
So, under the influence and drunk aren't necessarily the same, esp since under the influence doesn't only refer to alcohol. But FWIW, highly functioning alcoholics can do myriad things. Getting 3 women out of the house doesn't mean you can pass a field sobriety test.
I agree they left quickly...
It depends on why they left. For an overdose* or other emergency, they'd likely all go rather than "Welp, I'm going to bed, let me know how it goes." Otherwise, it's the reason some crimes remain unsolved in perpetuity - dead witnesses don't talk, and you don't have to be a target to be...
I'm not convinced it wasn't one or more persons invited to come with the girls, thereby entering the house normally. Sherrill, having fallen asleep on the couch watching tv while her room aired out may or may not have even been awake/introduced (or knew the person/s anyway).
IMO, Stacy, Suzie...
I've thought something came to a head at the ski event as well. I don't know that a 17 yr old would be offed re a Jr Olympics slot, but you never know. As for cocaine as a performance-enhancing drug, as well as very popular anyway at the time, Roger may have been privy to officials, coaches...
He referred to himself (in relation to his parents) as "missing" and not just missing. Also important what he doesn't say....such as, let them believe I am dead. That leads me to believe he was 1) either around long enough or otherwise savvy enough to know he had been officially declared missing...
This was right around the time Robert Durst was traveling from Vermont to NY, and I believe he was accountable for other disappearances, including Lynne Schulze in 1971.
Out of curiosity? What? "umm?"
Looking at this in it's own vacuum, a case could be made that Brian did go with them, and Amber's boyfriend wasn't thrilled. Especially if Brian was "doing his thing" in front of him. Or a fistfight 🤬🤬🤬 accidental death (or maiming 'necessitating' a murder)...
Before they got to Janelle's house, do we know how many people knew that's where they were headed? And if it was a specific face-to-face invite (likely to Stacey and she brought Suzie) or was it announced at an earlier party a la "late night at Janelle's!!!"
Because I'm wondering if someone...
Vile. And someone who would stab anything or anyone 39 times has gone to another level. I hope they continue to look at other unsolved murders/disappearances or unidentified Does anywhere Whelpley had been. I can't imagine this was a one-time rage.
As for Dickie, has there been any update on...
Do we know when her high school graduation was? I'm assuming she was finished with or finishing her senior year. So did she have college plans, or did she already have a roommate as a senior in high school? It seems she may have graduated and gotten a roommate right away, did she know this...
