He must have come up to the house twice. Assuming the one of the right occurred first, where was his backpack and gun/holster at that time? Did he have a vehicle?
I don't see the backpack or gun in this photo? Is it just not good resolution? Or did the perp go to the door once and then go get his stuff and come back? No timestamps.
Edit: Upon closer inspection, I think the gun is to the side instead of in front.
If it was a neighbor, worker, or associate, what would be the motive? Just wanted her dead? Robbery doesn't appear to be the case, and the ransom is secondary and not the original perp(s) imo. If they wanted money, robbery would make a lot more sense than this weird ransom scenario.

If it was an accidental or unintentional death but she is never found, it would be more difficult to prosecute (motive to remove body). Sad to write that out and hoping that isn't the case, but it makes more sense than a kidnapping/ransom, at least to me.

Kidnapping/abducting an 84 year old woman makes no sense. Kidnapping/abducting for ransom makes even less sense. It defies logic. Way too much risk of death combined with the risk of getting caught during or after bitcoin transaction in such a high profile case.
