I have just seen this quote from GE about PE and his movements it is possible then that RD called PE said what happened and then PE said ok i will be there in X amount of time sit tight til then... or am i missing some info to the contrary, i am assuming they would have been able to also...

I dont think they "missed" anything in the initial search i think they searched it as usual but maybe with less man power leaving room for doubt in peoples minds, i think who planted the clothes there saw that as an opp to do so.
