Just throwing this out there but do you think they would do that before they sent the detectives out there? Wouldn't it make sense for LE to ask the witnesses if that was the guy they saw before sending the detectives out to CO to interview him?

Based on what LE said at one of the first PC's about this case regarding the video/audio that was taken, I can only assume that there was something awful that was videotaped and or recorded on the audio. Everyone wants to hear or see more but there's a reason why we haven't and I'm guessing...

The fact that they've scaled back the investigation within the last week or two and there's been relative silence from LE leads to believe that they're making good progress on the case and are hopefully closing in on someone. I think due to the nature of the crime that LE wants to be 110% sure...
