Oh, I am by no means saying to discount it. I am a very analytical person to begin with so I look in terms of what is concrete and what is speculation.

I think until there is evidence that says otherwise, you are reading too much into it. I live on a creek and debris tends to collect along the bank inside of the brush. I would imagine a body would do something similar and then be covered by other debris.

I never said the interview wouldn't be taken into account by LEO. There is a difference between inserting yourself and making things worse for yourself. Jump all over this if you like, but I defend my statement. The guy didn't insert himself.

He was inserted into the investigation before that interview, no disrespect intended. He was going to be investigated regardless of the interview. The guy could be jumping in front of it trying to sway public perception. At the end of the day, he lives in this area, has a record, and knows...

If you know the lay of the land better than the police wouldn't you offer up advice on where to look? I know in a case local to me they searched woods behind my house and I am sure I could tell police spots in those woods because I guarantee I know those woods better than the officers.

Who says he inserted himself? If a child goes missing you canvas the area. I would assume (which I could be wrong, I am often) that the SOP would be to interview all registered offenders in the vicinity.

I always try to be as unbiased as possible (I don't think anyone can be 100% unbiased). It seems some people wanted to crucify the father based upon feelings instead of evidence. This is tragic enough, attention should be on remembering Maddox at this point. Wait for the evidence to start...

I 100% agree. I feel this is an unfortunate accident and the father will beat himself up more than anyone else ever could. Until further information comes out, respect for the family needs to be adhered to.
