It was heartbreaking to read. His son logged the cache as a DNF. Other cachers have also logged notes- those that met him and expressing condolences.

I just checked the geocaches in that area and it looks like other cachers are writing in the logs that he is missing, his handle, what geocaches he had already logged and are looking for him too.

Did anyone look to see if he logged any geocaches out there near the area his car was found?

Not much out in Kettle Falls and not much detail about what led up to him walking off the job site either. Does sound odd.

I was just in Idaho a couple of weeks back. I too had no idea people hunted mountain goats. They do indeed climb up rocky areas like it’s no problem. I was amazed. I was too scared to climb over where these guys were.

I had an experience once where I was indeed blown over by wind while backpacking along a ridge. It was so scary. The next day my face was swollen from the winds.

Came here to say this. I love over in Spokane. Nothing scenic at 1am to drive out to see. it’s all sage brush.
