Michael Fitton QC is an Oxford graduate I assume, if I am interpreting the word Oxon correctly? Interesting roster of cases. I guess the next important event will be on May 4th when he enters a plea on behalf of his client. Why hasn't CJ's bail been released? Will GR be called as a...

I'm still grappling with what could possibly be the motive.

This was posted a few hours ago on Avon & Somerset's FB page: In the light of the arrest of Vincent Tabak we are now considering the impact of this on other aspects of the investigation. A 66 year old man remains on police bail. This investigation is still live and passing through the...

There are lots of variables to consider in trying to determine whether the body was covered sufficiently with snow to avoid detection or not. Factors such as existing snow, wind velocity, type of snow ie powder vs packing, change in temperatures, would all be factors in determining the...

Point taken, however given his credentials, he'd be equally capable of improvising well under pressure. Yes.

Maybe B was howling, maybe he wasn't, but if he was, none of the inhabitants of that house would say so: they seem to think that loose lips sink ships. ;) Thanks to the posters refreshing our memory with where the body has found. Got me thinking again. Our NUA is employed by one of the top...

Yes, but he didn't state whether the cat had been locked in a room, that's what I meant (sorry, didn't make myself clear). I was only responding to that question, because it's been on my mind from the start, and would perhaps point to the perp having been in the flat had it been the case.

Abduction theory: Both of JY's parents said that after visiting her flat they believed she had been abducted. On January 2, 2011 there was a publsihed article here stating that detectives were pursuing the theory that she has been targeted whilst having drinks with her chums at the pub...

Those two things were discussed way back (maybe in thread 6 or 7?). We can only speculate about the cat because GR did not mention him. Re the door: because there were yale and mortice locks on the front door, most of us believed the door would automatically lock when shut. That's my recall...

He's still a suspect though, a week after the arrest of another. What have they got on him I wonder, and will he remain a suspect whilst LE determine if they have indeed charged the right man? LE should stop dilly-dallying, and either release his bail or charge him with being an accessory, but...

Here is one definition but I fail to see how it applies in this instance: Failure to surrender is a crime where a person who has been released on bail as part of criminal proceedings fails without reasonable cause to surrender to custody.

Yes, I remember that report very well and recall that the car had been left parked in a haphazard manner blocking traffic on the night of December 17th but had disappeared off the road by morning. Then there was this post on digitalspy: Incidentally I'm told on good authority that there was...

Do you remember the appeal JY's parents gave Dec 23rd? In it her lovely father said something like: if you have her, let her go...if she's dead, tell somebody where she is, we want her back whatever... And the killer gave her back, where she could be easily found. No offense, Luna, but...

Did A & S state it wasn't taped? I just assumed the incident room phone number would have all the bells and whistles on it. What exactly do we know about the phone call?
