When I think of Jeanie Willmott, especially when questioning Demarte, the animal that comes to mind is a mosquito annoyingly buzzing around the witness. Makes one dream of Deet.
I understand Martinez won't be allowed to dispute that the defendant has no knife in her hands. But will he be allowed to ask the witness: "Does the pupil show whether or not the defendant is holding a knife in her pocket? on her waist? on her leg? in her mouth? anywhere else other than in her...
I know I'm addicted because...
sorry, can't think of something funny to say, but have enjoyed reading the funny stuff people have posted :)
I know I'm addicted because I've been in fear of a light sentence as the many faces of others with blood on their hands and little or no prison time, keep...
ITA she has to be flexible toward the defense team due to it being a DP case, and need to preempt appeal/mistrial issues. I just wish the meter weren't running for the taxpayers of AZ.
As to the schedule, supposedly this judge is juggling multiple cases simultaneously.
:rocker:
Yumm yumm, I like soybean stew and peanut butter. No innocent animals were killed in order to make them. It would be poetic justice that murderers are served no murdered food. :hen:

This might well be her first murder, but I'd bet she committed multiple uncaught felonies.
She comes across as someone accustomed to getting away with major legal and moral infractions. Moving a lot might have helped. I wouldn't be surprised if she had previous experience with...
True, nobody would likely want her explicit endorsement of anything. It just seemed odd that she'd sprinkle her tales with so many name brands. Even her (allegedly) first memory after the murder and prolonged "fog," involved a brand name: Costco bottled water from the car trunk.
I wouldn't...
Thank you AZlawyer. I hope this question will be studied, as people can be influenced by unconscious factors. Presumably, awareness of the fact that non-rational factors can come into play can serve to limit their influence on decision-making. And of course, some people are intrinsically less...
Katie,
Surely many books will be written on this case. Actually I had hoped you'd write one, because you, unlike, say, BC, are there because you sincerely care. It needn't be exploitative--depends entirely on how it's done. And if it makes you feel better you could share some of the proceeds...
Casey Anthony seemed to seize every chance to smile during court proceedings.
The person who murdered Travis has done a whole lot of smiling in TV interviews etcetera. She has also frequently acted as if she is crying: mostly it has been just cases of speaking with whiny voice while...
There are some who still feel that, yes, she is a consummate liar, and she did murder him with premeditation, and she did kill him with unusual cruelty, but still...why would a man like Travis stay with such an evil woman?
Initially, she fooled him into believing she was a nice person, and...
I understand what you mean, but fortunately your 6 yr old isn't being deliberately obtuse to try to worm her way out of responsibility for a brutal murder. :what:
