In all honesty I’ve read every article and interview I could find about Andrew and this is the first time I’ve seen it mentioned that the G&T program was 2006 not 2007. Is it mentioned earlier in the thread?
I feel the same way about people’s insistence that he met someone online. No matter how...
He had no access to the internet though. The school, local Internet cafe and library PC’s were examined. Nothing found. Andrew’s sister had a laptop which she got 6 weeks before he vanished. It was also searched. They family claim he had no interest in the laptop.
I see many people say he must...
The gifted and talented program being in 2006 not 2007 throws me.
I’ve always felt he met someone there be it student or teacher who lured him to London. But it being a year earlier now means that theory is blown out the water.
The only thing that doesn’t fit that for me is the fact whoever it was trusted her to wake at 3am and meet them somewhere. Her Aunt and Nan lived in the same street I believe so if it was outside the house whoever it was was taking a monumentally large risk in picking her up there.
Maybe they...
I’m surprised more people don’t think along those lines. I honestly thought trophy behaviour the second I read that the bag had been double wrapped and buried.
I can never get a solid idea of this case because so many things confuse me. Trophy behaviour would point to someone who had done this...
I was in school 15 years before Andrew and if I was off my parents were called. If they didn’t get through on the phone a letter was sent. Your status as a good student or not wasn’t taken into account.
You also couldn’t get a friend to cover for you. You had to be there for morning and...
I’d recommend the Thin Air podcast. Andrew’s dad and sister were part of it. So it’s IMHO much better.
He of course could have gone to London another day. But his school attendance was 100% so it would have had to have been of a weekend. There’s no way the school wouldn’t have realised he...
Gave this a listen. I’d recommend sticking to the Thin Air podcast.
I’d forgiven the random speculation until he decided that because he was active on the internet then Andrew must have been too. He goes so far as to say there’s no evidence to rule it out. Despite the fact there is literally...
No of course we can’t be 100% sure of anything but it seems unlikely.
14 year olds can’t just start a new life. What would she have done for money? Where would she have stayed? She would have needed help and given the length of time that has passed why would adult Charlene not just send a...
I didn’t find her mother saying she needed to go out strange. I took it to mean she needed to go out and look for her. Which would be the natural reaction to a missing child.
Now I’m not defending her family but at the end of the day non of us know the truth. The news and editors of the...
Jesus what a complete cluster feck this case is.
I think it’s safe to say that everyone who should have been protecting this girl, and I mean everyone. Her family, social services, the police etc, all failed her spectacularly.
But what really wound me up, outside of her vanishing of course...
I’ve always felt the person who talked Andrew into going to London was known to the family. There zero evidence of online presence at all. I know there’s the chance he met with foul play via a total stranger but the likelihood of that is so slim I can’t bring myself to believe the one day he...
Sadly having spent some time on this and similar forums it’s really not that shocking. The police seem to feck up a lot. They were too busy investigating the family despite knowing within 24/48 hours Andrew had boarded a train to London. Alone. They knew what train. When it arrived in London etc...
The lack of CCTV is down to one thing. Police ineptitude. They didn’t ask for the CCTV of the surrounding areas or anywhere at all besides kings cross.
Had they actually done their job I’m sure there would have been more CCTV.
