I think it was a hate crime:
1) The SM profile was full of hate for a specific racial demographic
<modsnip>
3) Specific demographics of area and noteable distance away from his residence
4) Attacks of this nature rarely happen for no reason
Is it just me who thinks 1) a 5 mile hike is too much for a 5 y/o at the best of times?
2) inconceivable that a 5 y/o would be taken for a 5 mile hike in those conditions ?
Poor, poor child
The officer going unconscious from a "push" or "slap" is strange to me. There will be a significant twist to this story I think. To get knocked to the ground (from behind) unconscious with your 18 month child in your arms....you would likely be rattled and fear for your childs life and your own.
Not saying it's justified by any stretch. Purely theorising that he may have shocked into an over reaction if the attack was sudden, unusual, and he was carrying his child at the time. People are real touchy on here......
Having your 1.5 yo child with you is going to influence your reaction method, especially if the attack is freak in nature (possibly due to his disability)
We need a complex algorithm, maybe neural network based, trained on historical cases, that can be implemted to try and detect animals like this before they strike. There are many behavioural parameters that can be used to train it.
Preventable failures. Its like the swiss cheese model used for risk management and safety. The biggest being:
- Poor upbringing (Whipple)
- Child being left exposed to clearly unhinged individual in own home
- Uncle not being in Jail already
Couldn't agree more. Bad parenting and the decline of the traditional family is contributing to much that is wrong with the western world. Statistics generally don't lie
