In my opinion, at least one person would have come forward corroborating that the two had interacted in a public space by now (unless it's being quashed for the trial).

Agreed. One could argue that Hannah's behavior (and perceived condition) leading up to Tempo might have been consistent with consumption of something other than alcohol well before arriving on the Downtown Mall. Plus, with the huge music festival just outside of Charlottesville the week before...

If the POI's vehicle passed on Preston Ave. in either direction, LE would be able to see that in either of the uncut videos, i.e. McGrady's or (especially) Shell. If Hannah had been running from the Shell station to the first entry points into The Mall, she could easily cover that distance...
