    While it wasn’t by knife, when I was around 9, I got a pretty nasty cut on my left foot and I very much remember seeing bone. Oddly and unlike the perp I didn’t get any stitches (can’t really remember why,) but I still have a very visible scar. Everyone heals differently, definitely possible...
