I've seen signs for a Zumba class at my local (Fairfax county) fire department - they could have other things as well - so I suppose it's possible that she was at class while at work. I don't know if anyone ever specified where this fitness class may have been.

I agree with otto - when I download maps they often open as a .pdf or in Kindle and they stay on my phone until I manually delete them.

I didn't mean to imply someone carried her 5 miles to a waiting vehicle but there are parts of the trail that come fairly close to Skyline Drive and other parking areas, depending on which route she took. Or carried her a distance into the woods where there is more cover/bushes/tress. There...

I don't know the area that well - just the trails themselves. I love hiking, but I'm not venturing very far off the trails to chance an encounter with a copperhead. There is a camping area near the beginning of White Oak Canyon - I don't know if a back country camping permit would be needed...
