If I could put money on it, my guess would be Max was planking. There’s a good possibility that on the second floor in the hallway overlooking the foyer area is a 12" wide capped ledge, maybe 5ft in length or so. If one wanted to video a person planking, that would be an ideal spot for a kid...

It's possible he struck the chandelier or lighting fixture if he fell from the 2nd story landing. That's the only way I can see such a serious injury occuring. To me, falling down the stairs is out of the question, because the stairwell is not straight down. Of course, freak accidents can...
