I think they are trying to find them and as long as the news crews were hovering they were hindering the police efforts. They called the media off so they could do their jobs. I think the pic was of TC and that's why Nashville issued updated bolo saying TC had shaved his facial hair. JMO

Unless the person u hired to kill her had something more than money to gain by her death. They might have done it for something other than money. Just one theory I have among the others. So many pieces to this mystery!

So the police would focus on finding the driver of that car and spend valuable time and resources on it instead of the other vehicles going down the highway that the cameras might pick up on or the airport traffic.

I agree! PLUS if it was an innocent person why would the tag number be hard to see? It would be easy to see the tag and run it. It's related to the murder and the cops were sending a message to SP. Jmo
