Were you made aware of: (1) if financial activity ceased, (2) when phone/social media were deactivated, (3) if his wallet was recovered?, (4) if he regularly hiked/visited parks, (5) did he take his cat with him - assuming that’s his cat. Weather on 1/30/23 in DuPont area was low 42/high 61...

MS MS - Canton, Man dead in burnt car owned by city councilman who was later determined to have faked own death, charged w manslaughter of UID - May 1983

I'll have to go back and look. I specifically remember it being a man who faked his death by killing another man, placing him a burning car (was not able to truly positive ID then). Was in Virginia I'm pretty sure, and somewhere there is info on it - I think for many years the person in the car...

    Othram - General Discussion - #3

This happens so much more often than people know - technology just wasn't there - expert guestimate that remains were male, turned out to be female. Thank goodness for DNA and the work you all do as part of it this lady's name is known - much gratitude.

CA CA - McFarland, WhtFem 18-30, UP57064, white metal ring with clear stones, July'82

I'm going to do some speculating given jewelry and circumstances of recovery that this lady was engaged/married (ring with white stones). Ring was found on the body but case file does not specify particularly which hand. Remains were buried, which to me implies some semblance of familiarity with...

I vaguely recall a similar case out of Virginia, I believe, about the same time frame as well.

I'm not seeing the same weather extremes - I just looked at Orlando for both days, high temp was around 55 is what I am seeing. The Doe has some pretty wide ranges on height (10") and year of death (20 years), but then a PMI of 6 months(?). It would appear the remains are partial. The shorts are...

PA PA - Elsie Brack, 50, Pittsburgh, 2 June 1980

Weather in Pittsburgh on that day averaged 60-ish degrees Farenheit; I was thinking a 3/4 length coat was somewhat heavy for June but perhaps not. Pittsburgh -> Bellevue is approx 18 miles, both locations are on what appear to be significant rivers - The Ohio and The Monongahela.
