About the police searching Smich home- at one point they thought there were 3 suspects in the Bosma case. If the house was searched before they ruled out the possibility of a 3rd party I think they would be well advised to consider the possibility s/he could be present. MOO of course.

Someone was asking about evidence from CN and the Crown does not need to call her. They would call the detective who found it. Technically my opinion but I believe it to be fact :)

I think it's probably got somethig to do with the right of the accused to a fair trial; if the trial is rushed to free up space for the next, maybe you can request an appeal? Just MO

Satchie, a motive isn't the same as a reason. IMOO, as I'm not a legal eagle, motive is a tool that makes it look reasonable the person would have committed the crime. Sort of the back-story. But it doesn't need to make sense to us, in an if-i-were-in-his-shoes way. It's not a justification...

Second any recommendation to read ABro's book. I just finished it and felt it laid out a lot of information very well.
