This is so heartbreaking :( I was hoping so much that he would be found. Unfortunately this makes sense, as a disoriented person in the woody mountains of a national park does not stand a great chance. I was hoping the medication would wear off and he would be able to find help. I am interested...
Terrible situation, was not even a hiker. The FB post @Betty P mentioned indicates he had some type of break from reality, and he just ran off into the woods. The area is going through a cold snap, and it has been very raining and cold. The night he went missing, that area of Virginia was having...
It's crazy, I tried searching old newspaper records for reporting of her case and it doesn't seem like there was much....just a few different papers publishing her story, a lot of them had the exact same writing.
It seems like the public nor the newspapers did not care about the case very...
I am not sure we will ever have the answer, some people have speculated he may have starved for some days due to depression, as people close to him often stated when he would go into a depressive state, he would not eat and just lay there for days. If this happened, when it ended he could have...
When was Kearns cleared as a suspect? From everything I have read he would not talk to them and they had no evidence directly connecting him, so there was nothing they could do.
This is a great project! Mexico has a huge problem with missing people because of all the violence. This is a great article I read about the background to why there are so many missing people in Mexico.
I suppose it depends on whether they’re more focusing on the true crime community response and the forensic identification of him or who was he was as a person. If it’s the former, I would not be opposed to it. If it’s the latter, I guess it would depend on who they interviewed but I am not sure...
I wonder if Lula could have had a medical emergency and something happened. I’m assuming no silver alert was issued because of her family’s confidence in her mental abilities. I hope they are both found soon!
I’m so glad she’s doing well! Your scenario definitely reminds me of Heather’s. It says that she was going through a rebellious phase and was smoking cigarettes, and even though many preteens/teenagers start rebelling around this age under normal circumstances from peer pressure etc., it seems...
It feels like in this case, Heather knew what was going on for quite some time. If she was content with continuing to be around these people and not telling anyone, it feels like something more personal happened that was possibly fueled by meth use but not because of it. Like one of the adults...
This case is so insane to me....imagine being 12 and knowing that adults in your life that are not your parents are all smoking meth. That must have been very scary and confusing for her. The Trace Evidence podcast says that her mother claims that Heather would have told her if something illegal...
I am split to whether the girl was from the area or not. I am leaning towards not, as if it is near a rest area the person who did this to her could easily just have been driving along the road looking for a place away from where she was originally from to be disposed of.
