GUILTY IL - Sheila von Wiese Mack, 62, in suitcase in Bali, 12 Aug 2014 *fnd guilty in Bali* #6

The Daily Mail is reporting it now. It says the judge deducted two years from the 28 years the prosecution had asked for in view of the two years HM had spent in jail awaiting trial...

Bill Wiese's statement read out to the court, which is detailed in the Chicago Tribune article, was damning. As most people already suspected, the money HM received from her mother's estate to pay for "legal fees" was in effect used for bribes. I'm glad the judge believed him.

It's a pity all the other press articles are concentrating on HM requesting a reduced sentence. The Sunday Times UK article was really hard-hitting and detailed what she had done to her mother in the years leading up to the murder. It makes grim reading and it is clear that HM has never shown...

Excellent article in the Sunday Times (London) newspaper today. Sorry I can't link to it because it is subscription-based. It recounts the whole story of Heather Mack and her relationship with her mother. I truly hope she receives the full 28 year sentence that the Prosecutors are demanding...

The formatting in my original post didn't seem to work. Here's the link re: Shaun Davidson again. http://www.samuitimes.com/bali-prison-escapee-shaun-davidson-asks-people-share-new-facebook-fan-page/ Thai police think he's in Pattaya, Thailand - a particularly seedy area. If this is true...

I was surprised when I watched that video at how lax Kerobokan seems to be. It may of course be due to the filming and not wanting to create a bad impression. When I compare it with Bangkwang prison in Bangkok (famously dubbed the Bangkok Hilton), it is like chalk and cheese. It does appear...

I came across this video today about life inside Hotel K. It was posted by a journalist and friend of fellow Reuters journalist, David Fox, who was incarcerated for possessing a small amount of cannabis, which he took for his PTSD after reporting from many war zones. Anyway, most of it is...

I notice that some strongly opposing views are beginning to appear in this thread. May I just ask that we treat other posters opinions with respect?

snipped The online edition of the Daily Mail newspaper does indeed have an office in the U.S. (New York, I believe). MailOnline, which is publishing the stories about the Mack case, has 3 separate sections: U.K., U.S.A. and Australia. The print edition of the paper publishes news...
