FBI would be involved if there was indication of an abduction, but I haven't heard any credible report of that being looked at here.

One note here is that they use surveillance (like installing a webcam in victims yard) so they can be sure to strike when no one is home. Can't rule anything out, but this doesn't fit those theft rings MO - MOO.
I've been mulling over this as well and had wondered if she sometimes had saturday dinner at daughters and then spent the night versus taking an uber home, which could mean a thief with second or third hand knowledge might have assumed she would not be home. However, the fact they were armed...
Even in situations where no crime, having untrained searchers out in a search area can introduce extra challenges for human and canine searchers. Always check in with whoever is running things and ask how to help. That said, this is clearly not a case where the child wandered off and LE needs...
Thank for this sensible reply. Searches of open space without evidence or even a point last seen to start with are not feasible or helpful.
Asking folks along paths of egress from her home to keep an eye out for unusual or out of place items along the road is a good idea and hopefully was done...
The other reason to not allow others to assist in difficult terrain is to avoid creating a secondary incident with an untrained, unprepared volunteer getting lost, injured, etc.
They only have so many trained people and the search always starts at the last known location.
I will be very...
I wouldn't read into this statement. Dog teams and trackers want to find evidence (or lack of!) Where he may have wandered off to.
I don't have enough info to feel that this isn't an accidental wandering at this point (especially withan autism diagnosis). There are lots of acceptable reasons...
No news updates but there is someone who's name and age match listed as currently living in Houston. Would be good to confirm that new Orleans took her off their missing persons list!
I am not sure a woman would be confident enough in her strength to commit this type of crime, I would think a woman would use a gun. I keep thinking of Greg Lynn in Australia who was just annoyed by his fellow camper and it escalated to murder.
Just a caution, if you connect to a cheap solar charger pack that is not actively getting enough sun it can actually drain your battery instead of charge it. I stick with name brand small power banks!
Just catching up on this thread - I was a summer worker in Yellowstone a very long time ago. Likely he was altitude adjusted as the whole park is pretty high and after 3 months living and hiking in the park he would be in good physical condition.
There are many peaks in the park that don't...
It is odd to me that initial reports stated they believed she died of natural causes due to age and now it is believed to be very young offenders with an axe. Did they originaaly think it may have been a fall?
I hope LE has been exceptionally thorough in their investigation and have really...
The Velcro style was definitely from the 90s. Sadly at this guy's size and estimated weight I do think the weights and backpack point to self harm rather than hard core exercise. When I have loaded up a pack for training purposes, water is a common choice as you can empty it at any point...
