    I think Michael was a book smart kid but probably not very street smart. I doubt he was even very drunk...just very naive of him to wander out into the darkness of those woods like he did when he hadn't done it in years...and only once at that IIRC. All I can think of is him trying to fight...

    I think everyone was concentrating on the path in the direction towards his home and the direction where shirt/shoes/scent were found. The body was found on the other side of the party house toward the 495 side.

    I believe Michael was looking for the path off the path he was on that was a short cut to his house, but that path was overgrown and he went right by it in the dark. From looking at the Google map, maybe he walked to where the path ended at the brook and he crossed over it there...and then back...

    I think we have an OD from heroin/fentanyl around once a week here now but it's usually those in their mid 20s and over, not school aged kids. Not that I know of anyway.
