GUILTY Australia - 3 dead after eating wild mushrooms, Leongatha, Victoria, Aug 2023 *Arrest* #20

I suspect she hasn’t wanted one An ASD diagnosis wouldn’t make her less criminally culpable though. Maybe she didn’t want an assessment - didn’t want people thinking her unique brain and ever-so special intellect had social communication deficits? I appreciate the wait time for the general...

That’s interesting. Erin would have had the opportunity to have a formal autism assessment, if she wished. Why wouldn’t she? Or maybe that’s covered upthread.

I don’t disagree that she was dumping something in the bin at the service station toilet area. But - is there a bin in the corridor to the toilets as well as in the toilets as well? If not, was there enough time to walk down the corridor, open the door to the toilet and dump something into the...

It’s so much food interaction for someone supposedly having explosive diarrhoea. No one feeling unwell would peruse the sandwiches. You’d tell your kids they’d just left home and couldn’t be hungry 😀 and maybe grab a cold drink to sip slowly. I think she put something into a sanitary disposal bin.

IIRC All of the Wellington remains were in the bin, and, unusually, they were the only things on the bin. They were in a Woolworths bag. The “whole” leftover Wellington was missing its meat, but the Wellingtons in evidence included some samples in broken bits so I don’t think it could really...

Given the samples were mixed together and there was liquid seepage and no one actually knows which was Erin’s or not (she isn’t saying either) I don’t think Mr Mandy would have got very far with this argument

I went down a rabbit hole of scientific papers at the beginning of this case. While it’s true that people can be variably affected after ingestion and there’s different levels of severity, I couldn’t find a case report or case series where a survivor DIDN’T have evidence of liver function test...

Yes, but an endocrinologist won’t be overseeing a breath test, will they? If Erin poisoned Simon with different items every time, he would have had variable symptoms, but most ingested poisons will be GI irritants. I wonder who else’s food Erin was messing with?

I think you’re getting your medical specialists a bit mixed up. And - breath testing for H pylori is usually done before endoscopy, (gastroscopy, not colonoscopy) given it’s not invasive. But a positive H Pylori breath test isn’t definitive - some people, especially children, can be...

He was great. Look the evidence he managed to keep out - the scientific paper on the computer about the fatal dose of the death caps and the trip to the dump straight after the meal. The dump trip must have been especially galling for the prosecution, given that Erin later claimed that’s the...

She may have been intelligent but she was terrible at getting rhe medical details correct. It’s true that ovarian cancer is often diagnosed late - but it doesn’t present with an elbow lump. She didn’t check when the symptoms of DC mushroom poisoning actually start, so had so-called symptoms...

One of the podcasts said it was a 9 min visit to the dump and she disposed of standard waste and cardboard, in separate areas. There was CCTV but the view of the contents of what she was dumping wasn’t clear.

I wonder what went in the service station bin? I agree that the immediate aftermath after the lunch was getting rid of anything that could have contaminated her children - plates, maybe utensils, maybe the meat. Then the cover up was with disposing of the dehydrator. There was missing meat...
