To me it sounds likely the courts / police have asked the media to say little more on this for the time being, to let everything settle. Theres no other explanation why there has been completely nothing in print, radio, television over here for the past 3-4 days

Well done to the father. With his lasts few moments of life he was able to inflict enough injury to {mod edit} the alleged suspect which should lead to a life conviction. Without these cuts, there is no real rock solid evidence against him.
