In my experience with social services in NY, employed or not Asa would be considered under Rex's income as his spouse. Her son is diagnosed with a disability and is eligible regardless of his parents income.

I don't know for sure if they were tested but I follow Bittrolff's appeal closely and haven't heard that they were.
