The field is private land so people wouldn't normally walk across it without trespassing. That probably doesn't stop people from using it as a shortcut as going through that field instead of along the footpath is about 100m shorter and less muddy.

I am not sure when the search was started but I think there was a helicopter flying over the town on the first night.

As far as I know the search started as soon as it was realised that Gaia was missing. I walked up past the area where Gaia and her clothes were found and it looks like she entered the field where the clothes were found through a smaller entrance at the north end of the east wall, the entrance...

Temperatures that night were around 4°C at sea level so with the altitude and wind and it was probably closer to freezing. It was raining which would cool her down even quicker and climbing that hill gets you sweaty so that would also increase the rate at which she cooled. Add in the fact that...

It will be interesting to see if the family make an FOI request to the police for the helicopter footage recorded during the search to see if the police did miss the clothing or Gaia.

One thing that may be worth pointing out. In the CCTV of her running to the house she may have just been running because it was tipping down with rain and she didn’t want to get wet. It was raining all afternoon and evening in Swanage on the 7th November.

Hopefully the autopsy and coroners report will tell us what really happened that night. The forensics team would have been able to tell if she crawled into the bush or was put there by which direction the branches in the bush are facing. If she crawled in there herself all of the branches...

We won't know for certain what happened until the inquest, and even then only if the autopsy can actually reveal why she died. Until then it is all just speculation.

That does make a bit more sense.

I have heard from someone who knows a family member of one of the people who found her, so take it with a grain of salt, but she was found in the middle of a bush and it looked like she had crawled in there so it was probably a case of terminal burrowing due to hypothermia. It would also...

I’m going to stop posting as well for now as there isn’t much more that can be said unless there are any new developments. I hope the media give Gaia’s family some space over the next few weeks so they can grieve in peace.

Not unles the moon is out. There are street lights up cow lane and priests road but as soon as she went off road at Priests Way she would be in the dark all the way to the cliffs. As she knew the area it wouldn’t have been too difficult for her to navigate in the dark. The footpaths are...

There is some crime but not much. You get a few burglaries and assaults, mainly around the pubs at kicking out time and the usual small time drug dealers but very little high level crime. The main thing that made me think this wasn’t a murder is that they are very rare in the town. The...

The temperature along the cliffs is often a few degrees colder than the reported temperature for the town, mainly because of the altitude and updrafts from the sea and the weather station used to record the temperature is in the middle of the town at sea level so it is sheltered from the winds...

It is a popular area with dog walkers but it was raining and would have been dark by then so I doubt if there were many around and unless they walked by close to Gaia they wouldn’t see her in the dark if she was wearing a red top.
