Hmm, aside from the cleft chin it's hard to say if they look similar or not. With any subject, comparing a photo of a photo to a semi professional shot would make them look potentially like two different people.

I found a possible match on interpol, German by birth and last known whereabouts was Brazil in 1986. His name is Ernst Hafner. Is it possible he travelled on to the US? He's not on the ruled out list. http://www.interpol.int/notice/search/missing/2009-44110 I can't find any other info about...

Has it been officially confirmed that the man in the photograph is actually/suspected to be of the deceased? Can't see it on the Namus page, unless I'm being blind. Just says the photo was found in his wallet.
