GUILTY LA - Melinda Denny, 26, St Tammany Parish, 22 Feb 2014 *Arrest*

I want to be clear I'm not knocking law enforcement at all. I'm proud to be from here and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Only stating that I can be in St Tammany parish is 45 minutes, and I wouldn't have known anything about this case if not for following the Hailey Owens case here on...

GUILTY LA - Melinda Denny, 26, St Tammany Parish, 22 Feb 2014 *Arrest*

This whole situation is terribly sad and I have a bad feeling about it. Has anyone heard if they are conducting volunteer searches at this point? I'm not too far and would love to help. Is her family in the area or still is AL? As horrible as this is, it doesn't seem to be getting too much media...

    GUILTY MO - Hailey Owens, 10, Springfield, 18 Feb 2014 #2

I can't help but wonder if maybe he thought she was someone else, maybe a certain kid from the school he taught at, whom he was mad at for some reason? Haley was pretty tall for her age. This just seems like more than a random opportunistic kidnapping to me. Like it was personal somehow...

Charged with murder 1, :( Fly High Baby Girl.. may your family find the strength they will need to get through this. I feel like the botched Amber Alert sealed this girl's fate. Your public has more boots on the ground, more eyes and ears. They're your best tool in cases like these and they...

Jumping in... I don't know if this is the correct perp or not, but how is a person free after being convicted of a sex crime against a 9 yo?! That's infuriating! Sent from my MB865 using Tapatalk 2

The benefit for the convicted killer would be no additional charges, no risk of the death penalty, and notoriety in their twisted sick mind. The benefit for the families would be closure, no more wondering, and in some cases- a proper burial for their loved ones. In my opinion, which is moot...

I think you misunderstood...I was initially asking if a convicted killer who is already sentenced to life without parole.. meaning a mandatory FULL life sentence behind bars.. could he or she be offered immunity on any and all OTHER crimes he or she committed. Simply to get answers for families...

Perhaps the fact that it hasn't been done is good news.. maybe LE thinks they have something and are working to charge him with it. I know there are concerns with the BB owners and admittedly their actions seem more than a little shady. And I also realize there are probably more details that the...

Has there ever been a case where a convicted killer serving a life sentence w/o the chance of parole has been offered immunity to come clean on everything he or she has done? I think most, if not all, of the families involved would agree to this- simply to have answers, but I don't even know...

I have spent hours today researching Ali's case and reading this thread (I'm down with the flu right now so it's a good way to occupy my time, while I'm quarantined from the rest of my family.) I joined webslueths while following Mickey's case - I don't live far from Lafayette. All that being...

You guys may have covered this- and if so please just point me to the post- sorry, I'm catching up- but I read he is charged with TWO counts of first degree murder.. where did the 2nd charge come from? This is so said- for everyone involved. Sent from my MB865 using Tapatalk 2

Oh they will.. IMO they're hoping the killer is in the crowd and they're hoping he/she messes up. You can bet there's all kinds of surveillance going on. Sent from my MB865 using Tapatalk 2

My oldest is 11 and she is allowed to ride her bike from the neighbor on the right's mailbox to the neighbor on the left's mailbox- and only when an adult is outside. Then again there is a 8 year old that rides her bike around the neighborhood, going to several friend's houses, with no...

I tend to think this is more than likely the case. I know it's horrible- but the way LE is acting I believe they know they are dealing with a VERY sick individual. Sent from my MB865 using Tapatalk 2

They haven't mentioned him that I have seen.. or the dad for that matter. Not pointing fingers.. I'm sure its more than likely not the case and I'm sure they are devastated. I've just found it odd that I haven't seen or heard anything about them since very early on. And like others said earlier...
