    CA CONVICTION OVERTURNED CA - Sierra Lamar, 15, Santa Clara County, 16 March 2012 - #23 - GUILTY/LWOP

I feel so conflicted about the argument that bringing in the past kidnappings prejudiced the jury. Don’t they always say that the best predictor of future behavior is to look at past behavior? Patterns are important, IMO, when it comes to escalating behavior. When I watch trials I am often...

Clinton David Brink, 43, Cristen Amanda Brink, 41 found on trail- Devil's Den State Park, AR- 26 July, 2025 *Arrest*

In the name of science I just conducted an experiment with a roll of Duck Tape brand duct tape that I just bought a couple weeks ago. I definitely cannot tear off pieces with my own bare hands, or even when using my teeth. It just stretches and warps and little pieces come off into my mouth from...

ID -Multiple firefighters reportedly shot while responding to fire near Coeur d’Alene

Well, know that you're not alone! My skeptical brain went to the same place. It seems like they lifted the shelter-in-place so quickly, which seems odd to me. But, they must have compelling evidence (that we may not be hearing at the moment) to feel so certain that the danger has passed.

CA - Pacific Palisades - 30,000 People Ordered to Evacuate From L.A. Wildfires, January 2025 #1 *arrest*

It's actually common for CA firefighters to do 24 hour shifts (every other day/48hrs). They are typically not fighting fire that entire time, it is interspersed with rest time.

Yes, it seems criminal! Theoretically there is the CA FAIR Plan that is supposed to be a means to securing coverage one can't get elsewhere. From what I've heard though, it is very expensive and not feasible for many.

Yes, this is shocking to me that the FD was decreased while the PD was increased substantially. I'm missing the logic.

CA - Pacific Palisades - 30,000 People Ordered to Evacuate From L.A. Wildfires, January 2025 #1 *arrest*

Feeling heart sick thinking of all the people potentially without or between insurance due to the state of insurance coverage in California right now.

I've been watching the news coverage on this (I'm in Northern California) and it's just horrifying!! I feel so bad for everyone out there. Fire terrifies me.

MN - Truck driver crashes into car while watching Netflix, killing 2 people - April 30, 2024

Gosh, I read stuff like this and it makes me never want to drive on the highways ever again! Despite your own best efforts to be careful out there, you have no control over what other drivers are doing. And there seem to be a lot of bad ones these days! It's scary out there. It's tragic to...
