Schedule for the civil trial: SCHEDULING ORDER SETTING PRETRIAL CONFERENCE AND TRIAL DATES Case No. 19-25100-CIV-GRAHAM/MCALILEY Filed 3/13 9 Pages *I'm not going to post the full document because it's mostly instructions for the lawyers and isn't really pertinent to our interests here, but it...

Holy hell that photo makes my chest hurt. WTF is wrong with people doing that to a small child?? Those little legs just dangling over open space like that... I get not saying anything at the moment and risking scaring him into dropping the kid, but for gods sake chase that man down and give him...

Snipped to address things separately and BBM Whether or not the judge has seen it has nothing to do with this decision. The video and the judges' thoughts on it literally has nothing to do with this order. The only things under consideration in this are the amended MTD and the written responses...

Video hearings are definitely a thing but I suspect that SA would still have to travel to PR to do it. They're typically done on a "closed"/secured system so Skype wouldn't cut it, but I don't know enough about the technology to know if courts in different jurisdictions can access other feeds...

Activity on the civil docket: Jury trial is officially set for 12/21/20. There are several administrative orders added, nothing really of any interest here. The motion to dismiss is still under consideration.

Yeah, the scheduling is just standard. Do it regardless of it there's a chance it's going to stay on the calendar or not. It's easier to take it off then to try and cram it in later when everything is full. Doesn't mean anything either way

I honestly think he's just a 'face' to the firm. He loves his TV appearances and talk show rounds. He's probably too busy trying to chase down Covid19 cruise ship passengers and the Wiegands are just not his priority anymore

Not really. Him not caring simply recognizes that open or not he was probably going to lift Chloe up and put here there on the rail/ledge anyway. Whereas not realizing it means that he would have acted differently if had known. But there is no real indication of that.

Actually you still have to come up with excuses and assumptions for how he couldn't realize the window was open. "He didn't care the window was open" is actually probably the simplest

They probably wouldn't be questions like that. Depositions are truly mind-numbing and can last for hours or even days given the circumstances (probably not days in this case though). They'd probably start out asking really boring stuff about him. Who he is. What he does. About his community...

To be honest, with SA trying to plead out of the criminal trial now, I have mixed feelings about a dismissal. On the one hand, this complaint is trash in my opinion and should be completely thrown out instead of giving the family more of a podium to keep harping from. On the other, SA has no...

NEW DOCUMENT JOINT STATUS REPORT CASE NO.: 1:19-25100-cv-DLG FILED 3/9/20 10 PAGES joint status report 3-9.pdf It's mostly boring procedural stuff, but it does answer a few questions people here have been asking. From Page 3: "7. Any unique legal or factual aspects of the case requiring...

Snipped for brevity. So long story short, we are in agreement on this part. But again WHY are they tainted is the remaining question? For all that we know the reason they have been silent is that they know they had the very real possibility of being subpoenaed, either for by the defense or...
